So — what's it doing?

Tap whatever sounds most like your car and Les will tell you what he reckons it is, before you've spent a penny.

Can't see it on the list? Ring him and describe the noise. He's heard worse.

Les considering the problem

Go on then, pick one

Give me a symptom on the left and I'll tell you what it usually turns out to be, roughly what's involved, and whether it's something you need to sort this week or something that can wait. No sales patter.

What Les does

He'll fix pretty
much anything.

Ten years of it, on every make and model that's rolled through High Wycombe. Cars, vans, and the big stuff too.

Full servicing

Interim or full. Oil, filters, plugs, fluids and a proper look over everything else while he's under there. Service book stamped.

MOT preparation

He goes through it the way a tester would and tells you what'd fail. Far cheaper than finding out on the day and paying for a retest.

Diagnostics

Latest kit, plugged straight in. Fault codes read and explained in English, so you know what you're paying for and why.

How it works →

Brakes & discs

Pads, discs, calipers, handbrakes. He carries the common stuff on the van, so most brake jobs are done the same day.

Batteries & electrics

Battery, alternator and starter tested properly rather than guessed at. Replacements usually fitted on the spot.

Clutches & timing belts

The big jobs too. Timing belts on schedule are the difference between a service bill and a new engine.

How it works

Three steps.
That's the lot.

No online portal, no ticket number, no being passed around. You ring a bloke, and the bloke turns up.

1 Les on the phone

Ring Les

Tell him what it's doing, or what noise it's making — a bad impression of the noise is genuinely useful. He'll tell you what he thinks it is and give you a free, no-obligation quote there and then.

2 Les arriving with his toolbox

He comes to you

Your driveway, the street outside, or the car park at work — wherever the car is. Everything he needs is on the van. You carry on with your day.

3 Les giving a thumbs up, job done

Job done, price as quoted

He shows you the old parts, explains what he's done, and the price is the price he told you. If he finds something else, he rings you before he touches it — never after.

Meet the man

Alright —
I'm Les.

I've been under bonnets around High Wycombe for over ten years now, and I went mobile because I got sick of watching people lose a whole day to a job that takes an hour.

My rule is simple. I tell you what's actually wrong, not what's most profitable. I show you the old parts. And if something can safely wait a few months, I'll say so — I'd rather have you ringing me for the next ten years than squeeze you once.

"Cannot recommend enough, simple as that. I had a major issue with my Mini's engine and RAC let me down, but Les was out the same day that I called him and had it fixed within 48 hours. I told him I would need my car for work and he got it sorted at my house before any of my appointments the next day, absolute lifesaver!"

"Les responded to my enquiry and sent his mobile team, Beinz and Ryan, to repair my Rocker Cover Gasket. They were both very friendly, professional and very tidy as the work done was outside my flat. I highly recommend their service."

"Did a great job on my Mini. Knew exactly what he was doing and did not cut corners. Would recommend him."

Questions

Fair enough,
ask away.

Yes — that's the whole idea. Your drive, the street, or your work car park. As long as there's room to work safely around the car and it's legal to park there, Les will come to it.
An MOT itself has to be done at an approved test centre, so no. What Les does is MOT preparation — he goes over the car exactly the way a tester would, fixes what would fail, and then it sails through. Far cheaper than failing and paying for a retest.
Depends entirely on the car and the job, which is why every quote is free and there's no obligation. Ring Les, describe the problem, and he'll give you a real number — not a "from" price that doubles when he turns up.
He rings you and explains it before doing anything. You decide. Nothing gets added to the bill that you haven't agreed to first.
Cars, vans, and up to LGV and HGV. If you're not sure whether he can take yours on, ring and ask — he'll tell you honestly either way.
For breakdowns and emergencies, yes. Routine work like servicing gets booked into normal hours, but if you're stuck somewhere at eleven at night, ring him.
